Fred Stevenson

Fred Stevenson, son of Olaf,  was born in 1919.  He was killed while serving  as co-pilot on a C-47, when the right engine of the plane exploded soon after take-off from Ekron to Sdom.  The plane crashed into the ground near Kfar Yesodot, on October 24th, 1948.  He was buried at the Protestant Cemetery in Jaffa, and afterwards on April 16th 1951, reburied in the IDF Military Cemetery in Haifa.

Fred was posthumously promoted to Flight Commander on the orders of the Chief of Staff.
